Sensura, "a fiber for the senses," was developed in partnership with Parkdale, the leading
manufacturer of cotton and cotton blend yarns in the U.S. Sensura
embodies a whole new body of chemistry, resulting in fabrics that are better than natural, with an unbelievably luxurious soft
hand and super performance characteristics. Since Sensura needs lower heat for dyeing and
finishing, there is no stiffening of the fibers in the process. Sensura is a perfect fabric for
casual sportswear, performancewear and outerwear.
Strong on performance, Sensura dries twice as fast as cotton and is up to speed with the
techno-fabrics. Sensura fabrics move perspiration through the microclimate between skin and
clothing, transporting moisture to the surface, where it evaporates rapidly. And because of the
state-of-the-art manufacturing process, Sensura places a lesser burden on the earth in
production, resulting in eco-friendly apparel for outdoor enthusiasts. Sensura fabrics are ideal
for fashion's current crossover trend from active sportswear to everyday lifestyle apparel.
Wellman's newest addition to the Sensura product line is its microdenier version, engineered to
provide several enhancements to the already prodigious Sensura resume. It is a .97dpf product
with a 25% higher tenacity than the flagship Sensura product. The ease-of-dye properties were
largely unaffected. Microdenier Sensura was designed to make finer counts of yarn than are
currently available in the market, and to enhance blends with premium cottons such as Pima and
Egyptian.
